Solanum Lycopersicum
Black Krim tomatoes are a favorite heirloom beefsteak here, originating out of Russia maturing in 80 days, the plant produces unique and beautiful tomatoes that are medium sized at 8oz with a black bottom and a dark purple to red stem. With an exceptional flavor and a meaty juicy body it is a favorite in burgers or any spreads where its unique color will be sure to catch everyone’s eyes.
Origination: Russia
Recommended uses: Culinary
Height: indeterminate needing staking
Hardiness: to first frost
Flower Color: yellow
Characteristics:
Beautiful dark color and juicy meaty flesh makes this mid to late season producer one of the perfect summer tomatoes.
Maturity: 80 days
Sowing Instructions:
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date in soilless starter mix. Sow seeds ¼” deep and keep moist and between 75-85 degrees until germination in 7-14 days. Cold temperatures slow down germination significantly. Transplant to 4” pot when two sets of true leaves show and plant is safe to work with. If weather is still cool and plant is getting leggy bump up to 1 gallon so tomato doesn’t become root bound. When weather is warm and frost date has passed, plant in full sun rich well-draining soil location. Space determinate varieties 1-2’ apart, indeterminate staked 2-3’ apart and indeterminate unstaked 3-4’ apart. Keep soil evenly moist throughout season but excess water causes cracking. Tomatoes prefer high nitrogen fertilizer when young and high phosphorus when setting fruit.

Very much looking forward to trying these out. Came in great shape.

Accidentally ordered these thinking they were live seedlings, as that was what I searched for. I messaged the seller almost immediately, realizing my mistake, but they didn’t get back to me until after they shipped them. The timing was suspect—they messaged me back very soon after the order shipped, when it was too late to get a refund. I don’t have specialized equipment to germinate seeds (no warmer, no grow lights) but I followed the instructions exactly and only got 1 seed to germinate out of 15 planted. All my other tomato varieties from other sellers sprouted up just fine, but these had a super low rate of success. Maybe with a warmer and grow lights they would do better.

Just got the seeds, waiting on germination. These look fresh and I'm hoping for some nice Black Krims.
